During my stay at Davinci Hotel on Nelson Mandela Square, I enjoyed the beautiful decor and excellent location. However, the dining experience left much to be desired, with breakfast options that felt limited and not fresh. While the service had its shining moments, such as supportive staff, there were also hiccups that made the experience uneven. Overall, it's a mixed bag but worth considering for its prime location. 🌟

Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring a large bathroom and good quality linens. However, the open-plan bathroom lacked privacy.
Service
6.0
While the service was excellent on some occasions, I encountered issues with staff responsiveness and communication. Some staff seemed overwhelmed and unprepared.
Location
10.0
The location is perfect for both business and leisure, directly connected to the mall and in close proximity to key attractions in Sandton.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was underwhelming, with limited selection and freshness issues. I expected better from a 5-star hotel.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel offers a variety of amenities, but I found the pool area rather small and not heated, which detracted from its appeal.

5.6/10

My stay at the Davinci Hotel was overall quite pleasant. The location was excellent, being connected to the bustling Nelson Mandela Square, making it easy to shop and dine. The rooms were clean and well-presented, although the open-plan bathroom design was a bit unusual. While I liked the breakfast spread, it could have offered more variety. However, really good service from the staff made my experience nice.

Rooms
8.0
The standard room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, though the open-plan bathroom felt a bit exposed. An upgrade to a larger room with a balcony might be a better option for privacy.
Service
9.0
Service throughout my stay was generally excellent. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to assist, like personally walking me to a nearby restaurant when I asked for directions.
Location
9.0
Being attached to the mall at Nelson Mandela Square was fantastic. It made accessing restaurants and shopping effortless, and was also convenient for business travelers.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast options were decent, though I expected a bit more variety. The chef made a great omelette, and staff interactions were pleasant.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offered various facilities like room service and a bar, but the pool area was quite small and not heated. It didn't feel entirely functional.

I enjoyed my stay at the Davinci Hotel, appreciating its connection to the vast shopping mall below. though I found some aspects lacking, especially the dining options. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, offering a good level of comfort. Overall, the hotel serves as a solid choice for business and leisure in Sandton.

Rooms
8.0
The standard room was spacious and well-appointed, but the bathroom design was a bit too open with sliding glass doors facing the bedroom area. I appreciated the daily housekeeping service, though it would have been nice to experience more of the turndown service typically offered at luxury hotels.
Service
7.0
Overall, the service was friendly and efficient, but there were moments, especially at check-in, where the staff could have been more welcoming. I did encounter a few issues regarding payment methods that felt a bit uncomfortable.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location in Sandton is fantastic, with direct access to a massive mall and dining options just an elevator ride away. It's a great base for both shopping and business activities.
Dining
5.0
Dining options felt limited, with a basic breakfast buffet and few choices on the menu. I found the selection could definitely be expanded to meet the high expectations of a five-star hotel.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities like the swimming pool and gym were available, but the pool seemed more for aesthetics than actual use. Room service was decent, though I think they could enhance their menu variety.

I had a mostly enjoyable stay at the Davinci Hotel on Mandela Square. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the shopping and dining scene. However, I encountered some issues with housekeeping and the dining experience that impacted my overall impression. Despite these drawbacks, the staff was generally friendly and eager to assist me. 😊

Rooms

My room was spacious and very clean with complimentary bottled water. The bed was really comfortable, making it a relaxing retreat after a busy day. However, I found the open-plan bathroom design to be inconvenient.
Service
6.0
Overall, the staff were friendly and well-mannered, especially at reception and with the concierge services. Yet, I did experience some delays with housekeeping and had to call multiple times for missing items during my stay.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location is unbeatable, directly connected to Mandela Square and surrounded by shopping malls and excellent restaurants. I always felt safe in the area, thanks to the visible security presence.
Dining
6.0
I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which had a decent selection, although I wished it offered more options. The restaurant's cleanliness could have been improved, and one morning, the food didn't sit well with me, possibly affecting my experience.
Facilities
7.0
While the hotel has decent facilities, I found the gym to be quite limited, and the pool wasn't heated, which made it less appealing for a swim. They offer handy services like laundry and shuttle options, which were useful.

I really enjoyed my stay at the DaVinci Hotel. The fantastic location right on Nelson Mandela Square made exploring super easy. While there were some hiccups like a bit of noise from the breakfast area, the room was comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to help. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back.

Rooms

The staff were excellent—helpful and friendly. Each interaction felt personal, which really added to my experience.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location is spot-on. I loved being able to walk right into the shopping mall and find great restaurants nearby.
Dining

Breakfast was decent but could use some better selection, especially for those with dietary restrictions. Still, the chef was really supportive, which I appreciated.
Facilities

Facilities were good, but I think the massage options should be available later for travelers like me who arrive late at night.
